Our Schools
We may be rural, but we have fantastic teachers, staff, and facilities that are amongst the best in the state. Our students are divided into two buildings: Elementary School (K-6), Junior & Senior High School (7-12). Starting in 2026, a third building will open on our elementary campus where full-day child care will be available at a brand new, $3.4M state-of-the-art facility.

Abundant Student Scholarships
Colfax-Mingo has one of the most robust scholarship programs of any district in the state. This year alone, we will give out over $130,000 to EVERY graduating senior choosing to further their education.
Our Community
The towns of Colfax and Mingo are conveniently located just 25 minutes east of Des Moines off of I-80, and our school district is a strong community of approximately 800 students. If you're looking for a place that truly cares for it's people, you've found it!
The Future of CMCSD
We’re committed to creating the best possible experience for our students and staff for years to come. In 2023 we completed a $20M facilities renovation project that included a brand new football field, gymnasium, wrestling room, weight room and indoor track. And now in 2025, we will begin construction on a $3.4M state-of-the-art child care center (and this is still just the beginning).
